New Canon 7D firmware update

To all Canon 7D owners – New firmware now available for Download – I just updated mine from 1.2.3 to 2.0.0

All ran smooth. Here’s what you gotta do:

First make sure your camera batteries are fully charged!

Then follow these steps:
1.) Download the new firmware from this
official Canon Link: http://bit.ly/RTBFF9
2.) Prepare a formatted CF card (format it in camera)
3.) Copy the extracted downloaded file to the CF card (I did it via my Cardreader)
4.) Put the card into the camera (Set any mode but Automatic) and turn on the camera
5.) Go to the Menu and rotate to “Set-Up 3 (Yellow)” and select the Firmware item.
6.) The Firmware Update screen will appear, select [OK] and oress the <SET> button.
7.) Follow the steps onwards
That’s it, the update process itself took only 2minutes.
Love the GPS compatibility and especially the enhanced Audio leveling, fair enough for ambient sound and basic Interviews with an external Mic.
