Vienna Sunshine (Fictional Woody Allen Opening Scene)

Proud to present my latest project. As most of you already know, I’m originally born and raised in Vienna and have permanently lived in this beautiful city till my late 20ties. Until one day I decided to take the next step and move to Doha, Qatar. It’s been almost 7 years now, so much to how fast time flies by…. Coming back to visit my friends and family always ends up very emotional and one can feel the love and prospering live this charming city carries within.

As a big Woody Allen fan, I always wondered why he never filmed here, maybe he’s to busy. Anyway, I couldn’t get the thought of what it would look like and how it would turn out, out of my head. So here’s to how this project finally started.

If Woody Allen were about to make a movie in Vienna, this would probably be his opening scene.
Slow Jazz music combined with the cinematic look of yellowish, bronze & brownish colored beauty shots of the city. Inspired by the ‘Midnight in Paris’ opening scene, this project was shot (on a Sony A7s) & edited between August 4-7, 2015 on location in Vienna, Austria. Graded with FCPX color and Filmconvert. Music by Sidney Bechet – Si Tu Vois Ma Mère

Enjoy and leave your comments below.
Cheers Alex

  1. I lived in Vienna years ago and am always interested to see what it’s like now. Last year, I published a novel set in a near future Vienna, “Perceval’s Secret,” (available at Amazon, B&N, and Kobo). Your homage to Woody is brilliant! Maybe now he’ll set a movie there…..
