Simon Kearns, born and educated in England, is a keen sailor at heart who has won numerous national and international titles. Simon moved to Qatar for a job teaching sailing in 2008 and during the next four years worked and lived in Doha. During late 2011 he acquired a Gopro camera and experiemented with the timelapse function. This lit a flame of interest and so Simon carried on placing the camera in different places to see what would happen. This obsession lead him to buy his first DSLR and within months he produced the famous timelapse film ‘Qatar’ which set the Doha time-lapse bar to a new level. Simon produced numerous popular films since then and is currently experimenting with the new Hyperlapse trend.
